Underage Gambling Policy
This page is meant for our players, for parents and for anyone living with, or sharing a device with, someone who plays at North Battleford Casino. It applies at all times, to every game and every account.
Playing at 19+ only
Only players 19 or older can register, deposit and play.
No exceptions apply: minors cannot use demo play as a loophole, and family accounts may not be shared. Registration is possible only in places whose laws allow online play, and Canadian requirements covering age, identity checks and anti-money laundering are in force. Opening an account before your 19th birthday breaches our Terms of Service.
Checking your age
We verify age before any deposit, not after a win.
- During registration you are asked for your date of birth. If that date shows you are under 19, the process stops there.
- Your name and age are matched against official government photo ID before your first deposit is accepted. A passport works, as does a driver's licence.
- Geolocation confirms where you are playing from.
- Checks are repeated whenever something about an account suggests the holder could be younger than claimed.
Guarding shared devices
A logged-in casino account on a family tablet is an open door.
If a phone, laptop or tablet in your home is used by anyone under 19, take these steps:
- Sign out whenever you finish playing.
- Turn off password saving and autofill in your browser.
- Secure the device using a PIN, fingerprint or face unlock.
- Give everyone who uses the device their own user profile.
- Keep cards, Paysafecard vouchers and the sign-in details for your e-wallets somewhere children have no access to.
All play on your account counts as yours, even when another person is playing.
Using parental controls and filters
Free and built-in tools can block gambling sites for young users.
Parental settings on computers, tablets and most phones can restrict apps, downloads and web content. A lot of home routers can filter whole site categories for every device on your network. Dedicated filtering software adds one more layer of protection. Internet Matters offers parents free help to choose and set up these controls. BetGuard, Gambling Therapy and the Responsible Gambling Council also give free support on gambling harm.
Acting when a minor is found
Underage accounts are shut at once and winnings are void.
When we discover or suspect that someone playing is under 19, we:
- Freeze the account immediately and block all play.
- Request proof of age. If none arrives, or if it shows the player is a minor, we close the account permanently.
- Void all winnings and cancel any bonuses.
- Return deposits to the original payment source where our payment rules allow.
If the holder of an adult account let a minor use it, we close that account as well. Any promotions, North Battleford Rewards points and rewards status are lost.
