Anti-Money Laundering Policy
This page is for anyone who registers, deposits, plays or withdraws at North Battleford Casino. It applies from sign-up until your account is closed, and our record keeping continues after that.
Verifying who you are
Each player is checked so our games can never be used to launder dirty money.
Registration requires that online gambling be legal in your location. Canadian rules on identity checks, age limits and AML (anti-money laundering) cover every account. Knowing who our customers are protects you and other players and keeps criminal funds out of the casino. Checks take place before your first deposit and are repeated any time the law requires it or your account activity calls for it.
Handling failed checks
Without verification, you cannot deposit, play or withdraw.
Is a document missing, unreadable or expired, or do your details not match your account? We pause it and tell you exactly what we need. If the issue can't be fixed or the information proves false, the account gets shut. Once everything is settled, any balance we can legally release goes out by Interac e-Transfer, unless legal requirements mean we must hold it.
Proving your identity and age
Expect to send a few clear documents before money moves.
To register, you supply your complete legal name, your residential address and when you were born. To confirm these details, we need:
- A valid passport or driver's licence with your photo and date of birth.
- A bank statement or utility bill, issued recently, showing your name and home address.
- Proof that every payment method on your account belongs to you. For an e-wallet, capture the account page with your name in view. For a card, an image of its front side, middle digits hidden.
All players must be 19+. Geolocation also checks that your location is in an area we accept players from.
Monitoring account activity
We keep watching after the first check.
Our staff and systems monitor deposits, bets and withdrawals for activity that does not fit ordinary play. Warning signs include money deposited and then withdrawn with almost no wagering in between, frequent changes of payment method, or sudden jumps in amounts. Deposits can be made by Interac e-Transfer, Mastercard, American Express, Paysafecard, MuchBetter, Skrill and AstroPay. Withdrawals go out only by Interac e-Transfer, so every payout can be traced to a verified player.
Keeping records and reporting
We store what the law says to store and report what the law says to report.
We keep identity documents, verification outcomes and transaction records securely for as long as Canadian law requires. Suspicious activity, and any transaction that reaches a legal reporting threshold, is reported to the relevant Canadian authorities. By law, we cannot tell a player whether such a report exists. Our Privacy Policy describes how stored data is protected.
Screening for PEPs and sanctions
Every account is checked against public office and sanctions lists.
A politically exposed person (PEP) is someone who holds a senior public post today or held one before, such as a head of state, senior judge or high-ranking official. Their relatives and close business associates are screened as well. Being a PEP does not stop you playing. It means enhanced checks and closer monitoring. People on sanctions lists cannot open or keep an account. Screening happens at sign-up and is repeated regularly.
Showing where your money comes from
Larger or unusual deposits may need proof of their origin.
We may ask where your funds come from if your deposits are large, rise quickly or look out of line with your known profile. We accept tax documents, bank statements, payslips, or papers from an inheritance or property sale. Play stays paused until we approve what you send.
